No.22-Locomotive Restoration
22-Locomotive Restoration Project
Locomotives 22 and 1310 are examples of Montreal Locomotive built RS-3 a road-switcher type diesel-electric locomotives. That means that they can be used for yard switching and mainline operations. Locomotive 1310 was completed in 1951 for Ontario Northland before being purchased by Abitibi-Price and purchased by the YDHR in 1995. Locomotive 22 dates to 1955 and was formerly operated under the Roberval & Saguenay Railway banner.
Update
As of June 1st., 22 is now in operating condition and running last week. Thanks to all who contributed to this work. Our next step with 22 is to prep the locomotive for movement out West to have its new paint applied and soon see it live in action.
